|
SABRE is a tall linear sconce creating a dramatic silhouette. The SABRE wall sconces juxtapose lenses, reflectors and tinted acrylic sheets to produce unusual optical effects. Illusions of depth and fractured patterns of light and colour shift and dissolve depending on the viewing angle. The lighting is predominately diffuse with areas of sharper focus emanating from the lamp source. Because of the subtle visual vibrations, SABRE invites the viewer to examine the fixture up close.
Partially shielded, yet visible as a ghost, the energy saving compact fluorescent lamp becomes itself an interesting element. The mirrored rear reflector with the partial reflection of the tinted cover multiplies the lamp outline, lending it a hologram-like three-dimensionality. |
